- Find out if they can provide Personal Financial Advice
- Consider what the fees will be and check to see when they are payable
- Because the person you are meeting with may not be the only one dealing with your work, find out who else will be dealing with your work
- Are you comfortable discussing personal or family matters? Are you happy for them to help you develop a long term personal financial arrangement? It is important that you get along with this person.
- Have they provided advice to other people on a long term basis?

- Once you have chosen your accountant, you should recieve their terms and conditions through the post or email.
- Your chosen accountant should regularly update you on changes in legislation, taxation and personal finance which may affect you or your family and not just when you seek their advice.
- If you have any problems or there are changes in your business or personal circumstances, then you must inform your accountant as soon as possible.
- Your accountant should always make time to help you plan your personal finance so review your personal finances regularly.
